Many of us are proud Canadians but how far are you willing to take your pride and loyalty to this great nation? Meet Darren Barefoot. Darren takes the meaning of living Canadian to the next level. For the next 12 months, he will only buy Canadian products, eat Canadian food and consume Canadian media (including internet!) To make sure he doesn’t slip off the path – he is documenting the process through his website which will be followed by a book in 2012.

Last night Steam Whistle hosted the opening reception for Films of Krzysztof Kieślowski in World Film Posters. Kieslowski is best known for being the director of masterpieces such as Oscar nominated the Three Colours Trilogy, Decalogue and The Double Life of Véronique. This North American premiere of the exhibit also marks the 70th anniversary of his birth and the 15th anniversary of his death. Among the speakers to celebrate his work was Piers Handling (Head and CEO of Toronto International Film Festival).
