He taught me to walk, He taught me to Drive, and he taught me that family will always come first.

I remember splitting a 24 pack w my dad, smoking cigars before a hockey game I had, we both had a few too many. However, “Enjoying the now” and being lost in the moment in the name of memories is such an important lesson; as you never know what tomorrow holds- if you make it that far.

Your family always comes first and don’t expect people to take care of you your entire life you need to make your own life, get a good job, your own house whatever that may be. Your family will always be there to help you out but you need to take the initiative and make it happen.

Don’t pay to fix something that you can fix yourself, but make sure to recognize the difference between the two.

One thing my dad does really well is help myself and my siblings set ourselves up for success through goal setting. Every New Years as children we got together as a family to set goals and come up with specific steps of how we were going to achieve them. It was fun and we could celebrate last year’s successes together!
