Hey Mike - here's a note from Daryl:

Unfortunately our Portuguese bun supplier was not able to keep
up with our volume demand with two locations so we had to make the decision to
step forward with a new supplier – however keeping our king street location
with the Portuguese buns for consistency.

With respect to pricing, we serve the same massive amount of
meat per serving at both stores and the costs per bun are virtually identical –
so the prices are consistent.

That said, I wouldn’t say it is a subpar product, we have been
using hamburger buns and concerts & special events for years and I
personally actually PREFER my pulled pork sandwich on a soft and delicious
hamburger bun.

So we learn from this that the King St location uses delicious fresh baked Portuguese buns while the Ryerson uses just plain old hamburger buns. Do they charge less at the Ryerson location for a substandard product? I am amazed a restaurant owner would admit to taking a shortcut like this.
