Earlier this month, we received fantastic news that Steam Whistle Brewing was ranked the number one most-photographed spot in Toronto!
The ranking was done by a popular service called Panoramio, a geolocation-oriented photo sharing website. Panoramio works by accepting photos uploaded to the site and can be accessed as a layer in Google Earth and Google Maps, with new photos being added at the end of every month. The goal of the site is to allow Google Earth users to learn more about a given area by viewing the photos that other users have taken at that place.
According to Sitesmap.com, an interactive map that utilizes geo-tagging, Steam Whistle Brewing is the number one photographed location in downtown Toronto. We attribute this first-place ranking to the youthful, forward-thinking consumers who are early adopters of both technology and craft beer. Thank you!
Here’s the full list of photographed Toronto sites as seen in Notable:
1. Steam Whistle
2. CN Tower
3. Nathan Philips Square
4. Rogers Centre
5. Downtown Toronto
6. Yonge & Dundas Square
7. St. Lawrence Market
8. City Hall
9. Hockey Hall of Fame
10. The Bay (at The Eaton’s Centre)
We are very flattered to be number one on the list.
Our dream in opening the brewery in this landmark location was to be a community gathering place; not just a production facility where people could sample and buy our beer, but a true social hub where friends get together and celebrations happen. This ranking feels great knowing we’ve been captured in photos as part of visitors’ life memories.
Thanks to those who have visited us and for those who haven’t please come by!
