Steam Whistle Brewing, a leader of Canadian craft beer, continues to take a stand to support a healthy craft beer industry across our entire country. On Tuesday, July 12th, we were surprised to learn that the Alberta Government had changed its small brewer’s tax support program to now exclude all craft breweries outside of Alberta (previously B.C. and Saskatchewan based small brewers had been included in the recently created “New West Partnership Trade Agreement”), and have repackaged these anti-constitutional measures with a uniform tax increase and exclusionary, Alberta only “Grant” Program.
