    On October 27th, Jeremy Harrison, Minister responsible for the Saskatchewan Liquor and Gaming Authority (SLGA) made a trailblazing announcement proving Canada can build a successful craft beer industry without imposing anti-constitutional tariffs on smaller producers. The SLGA recognizes the importance of craft brewing for local economies and their new graduated mark-up structure reflects that with lower rates for small brewers inside and outside Saskatchewan. This Saskatchewan announcement comes at a time when neighbouring Alberta is embroiled in controversy over their protectionist and unconstitutional beer tax policy.
