In June of 2007, Steam Whistle Brewing began painting our signature green colour on the tank portion of the tower outside our doors, but the process began many months previous. Before painting, we had to first get the blessing of various City of Toronto departments:  Real Estate, Culture and the City’s Heritage Architect. We then paid for the tower’s complete restoration which included sandblast cleaning and then repainting the supports and a base coat on the tower itself.  Traditionally water towers were the signage for manufacturing facilities and for towns alike. On St Patrick’s Day we welcomed a very special guest for a brewery tour – Skellie from OMG Literally Dead. Hard on the heels of her New York Fashion Week adventures Skellie needed a taste of her hometown and we were happy to oblige.   While she was waiting for her tour to start Skellie took a spin around on the Steam-cycle that Co-Founder Cam rode for the Ride to Conquer Cancer.
