Candlelight for Earth Hour | |
|
On Saturday March 28th from 8:30 to 9:30pm, Steam Whistle Brewing turned off all of its lights for WWF Canada's Nationwide Earth Hour. It just happened to be right in the middle of the Wedding of Ian Ricci and Anna Craig who were celebrating with friends and family in our event space. Hi, I'm currently serving overseas in Afghanistan. Sadly these are dry tours but for special occasions, they will let us have 2 beer. Imagine my surprise when instead of the normal Coors Light, Bud or Canadian they handed me 2 tall cans of Steam Whistle. It made my day, week and month. Thanks for sending some much appreciated brew to some very thirsty soldiers. I'm sending a pic of me with a can here in Afghanistan. |
|
My name is Cpl Aaron Mustard and I am a very big fan of your Pilsner. I am currently deployed as part of Recce Squadron, 3 RCR Battle Group on Operation Athena in Kandahar, Afghanistan. We have been having a rough tour but every once and a while we get a chance to enjoy two alcoholic beverages per person. Just recently we were spoiled and received two tall cans of your Pilsner. I just want to say thank you for making such a great beer, and to whoever made it available to those of us overseas. Thank you again, |

I just wanted to drop you a quick note to say that our group had a great time on the Steam Whistle tour. It was very fun, informative and interesting. Our whole group loved it. The staff did an excellent job and appear to really enjoy their work. Thank you. |

Here is a picture of the 29 women, from Piple who will be learning to read and write in Nepali for the first time in their 8 month Basic Literacy Class. Steam Whistle has been [a sponsor] with us for some years now. Please thank all those who are involved in helping [fundraise] with your great beer. And please tell everyone to think about how many women now, who are literate because of your help. Know that WELNepal has provided a library for the women of Piple, and it's a very busy library at that. Also know that the women of Piple are now involved in our lecture series on women's empowerment and will continue to be part of our lectures on health, and ecology. |
