Steam Whistle Brewing March E-News
The Music Issue. We love music. Even more, we love to support talented independent artists who follow their dreams.

Steam Whistle is committed to doing one thing really, really well and we are proud to be behind those who share our passion. Music is an important form of self-expression and it's thrilling to see such a thriving Canadian indie scene.

And this is why we host UNSIGNED. If you haven't yet checked it out, Steam Whistle UNSIGNED is an ongoing concert series that showcases Canada's indie music talent, while also developing its future. Hosted in Toronto, Edmonton, Calgary and Vancouver each edition of UNSIGNED features three Canadian artists with all of the ticket sales going back to the arts community through organizations such as Artists' Health Centre Foundation, Elephant Artist Relief, and Calgary Underground Film Fest. UNSIGNED has to date featured over 50 independent Canadian acts and have raised over $30,000 for local arts community.

We have had the privilege of having amazing bands such as The Rural Alberta Advantage, Austra, Young Empires, Rich Aucoin, The Balconies, Woodhands, Dinosaur Bones, Lioness, Parallels, Make Your Exit, Hooded Fang, Kidstreet play our stage.

Come out to the next UNSIGNED to show your support!

Mark Friday, April 29 2011 in your calendar. We have an amazing line up of bands featuring:

Steam Whistle UNSIGNED - Live April 29th

The Darcys
The Darcys upcoming record is produced by Murray Lightburn of The Dears and if that doesn't say enough Greg Lawrence (CBC Radio 3) describes The Darcys as "a band that can easily be shortlisted for a future Polaris Prize".
Visit The Darcys website

We recently had the pleasure of having The Darcys create a live recording at the Steam Whistle Brewery. Take a look.

Wildlife
Wildlife is made up of five energetic, adventurous, youthful barbarians who recently had a showcase at the Canadian Music Week, and according to Exclaim Magazine are "filled with youthful exuberance and affirming righteousness".

Freedom Or Death
Freedom or Death decided they are not followers and want to make music that they want to listen to regardless of radio air play. Seems as though the band has good taste with The Wall Street Journal naming Freedom Or Death one of CMJ Music Marathon's 12 best bands.

  Steam Whistle's Green Initiatives

Green beer isn't only for St Patrick's Day

The recent St Patrick's Day festivities woke up the green spirit that lives strong all year round at Steam Whistle.

Steam Whistle has always been committed to creating an eco-friendly brew. Take a look at this coverage from Metro that discusses drinking green all year long.

And speaking of St Paddy's, take a look at your party faces on our Facebook Page.
