Spotlight: A Benefit for Fife House
Mamma Mia! Here we go again! Louise Pitre reprises her Tony nominated role in an in-concert performance of Mamma Mia! to benefit Fife House.
On October 28, 2013 at Daniels Spectrum (585 Dundas St. E), BMO Financial Group presents Spotlight; the 13th annual performance-based fundraising event in support of Fife House, the largest provider of supportive housing services to people living with HIV/AIDS in Canada.
The production will feature a selection of ABBA's timeless songs, as performed in the smash hit musical and blockbuster feature film adaptation.
Spotlight is thrilled to welcome original Toronto cast members Louise Pitre (Donna Sheridan) and Adam Brazier (Sky); and original Broadway cast member, David Keeley (Sam).
Producer Michael Rubinoff (Theatre Sheridan) returns to follow up last year’s successful RENT celebration, along with Musical Director Bob Foster (Mirvish productions of Hairspray, We Will Rock You, and Dirty Dancing). The evening promises to be a stellar celebration of the ultimate feel-good show.
This is arguably the role Pitre is most known for, and earned her a 2002 Tony Award nomination in the category Best Performance by a Leading Actress in a Musical. In the same year the production was nominated for Best Musical.
Fife House Foundation provides housing and supportive programs and services to men, women and families in Toronto living with HIV/AIDS. With hope, people see a future; with help, doors open, and; with home, everything is possible. Raising more than $600,000 since its inception in 2001, Spotlight raises funds that go directly to services and programs at Fife House.
Tickets are available online at http://www.fifehouse.org/ and by calling 416-205-9888. Ticket price includes a cocktail reception and silent auction. General admission $75, VIP $125 (VIP includes reserved table seating and open bar).
