Spaces Between

Tempering the raw conceptual power of the abstract and surreal with meticulous geometry and detailed, decorative line work, Catherine Harasymiw fuses the innate, underlying forces at work in our recollection of events and objects with the visible and reasoned forces of cognition. Whether through illustration or painting, she believes it’s important to bring emotion and trauma to the forefront of otherwise static experiences; calling on the nature of the unconscious, as much as the conscious, when studying human perception. Her favourite art movements include Surrealism, Art Deco, Art Nouveau, and Expressionism, while she counts Alphonse Mucha, Alex Grey, Jess Hrycyk, Aaron Horkey, and of course, Dali as her most admired artists for their singular efforts.

Time: Opening Reception Wed July 5th 7-10pm; and on display during regular store hours until July 29th.
Ticket: Free
