Steve's Steam Whistle Pizza
By: Steve Adams, Team Cedar Grilling
Pizza Dough:
In a large bowl, dissolve the yeast, brown sugar, in 110 F water and beer and let sit for 10 minutes
Stir the salt and oil into the yeast solution
Mix in 3 cups of the flour
Turn dough out onto a clean, well-floured surface, and knead in more flour until the dough is no longer sticky. Place the dough into a well-oiled bowl, and cover with a cloth. Let the dough rise until double; this should take about 1 hour.
Punch the dough down, and form a tight ball. Allow the dough to relax for a minute before rolling out into desired size.
Add Steve’s Pizza Sauce and you own favorite ingredients
Preheated BBQ and pizza stone to 500 - 700 degrees
Bake pizzas until the cheese and crust are golden brown, about 6 -10 minutes.
Pizza Sauce:
Add all ingredients into sauce pan
Mash tomatoes with potato masher
Bring mixture to a boil
Simmer uncovered for about 10 minutes
Pick out tomato skins
Reduce mixture to desired consistency
Note: If you are making this sauce recipe on the BBQ, fire roast the tomatoes over high heat until the skins split. Continue with the recipe.
